So the first thing I want to point out when we log into valeriedavenport.unitedrealestatechicago.com is the the “Click Here to Learn Your Home’s Value” link. This provides you, the customer, an opportunity to request a free CMA, or Comparative Market Analysis for your home. This is an estimated value of your home based on public information but if you would like a more precise estimate, I’d be happy to come tour the home to prepare a more thorough report. By clicking on the link, you’ll be directed to the form which asks for basic information so I know the property to research and where to send the report once it’s completed.
Below the link, on the website’s home page, you’ll also see a Find Your Home section. You can toggle between the Buy or Sell tabs but for the purpose of this demo, we’ll talk about the Buy tab. You can type into the search bar, a specific city, county or zip code and press enter, or you can press the “+More Options” button to enter more search criteria. I’ll type 60603 and enter. That’s the financial district in Chicago’s Loop area.
Once the search results are populated, you’ll notice they’re grouped in green, yellow or orange numbers on the left map, but also shown in a list format on the right side of your screen. You can click each number to expand the homes in your search, where it also zooms to street level on your map. You can see these homes I’ve selected are near Monroe and State Street.
Back to the Home screen, on the left side pane, you can see details about how to reach me, including my phone number, email address and social media handles. In the middle of the screen are testimonials for the United Real Estate Chicago location. And, in the right side pane, is a contact form, if you want me to initiate contact or have questions, you can fill out the form and I’ll follow up.
Below these sections, you can see Chicago Listings. Click on the “See More” button to explore other listings and narrow your search criteria.
The affordability calculator is just below the listings. It’s prefilled with data but you can customize to your specifications for a more realistic calculation. Reach out to a loan professional for actual numbers. And if you need referrals to a loan professionals, I can provide some names at no cost or obligation to you for this information.
Scrolling further, you can see some videos I’ve created on YouTube. These offer a behind-the-scenes look into what it’s like to be a realtor, as well as different topics such as best neighborhoods to explore in Chicago. You can also find these videos at the top of the page, in the Blog: Reality of Realty menu option. Videos are displayed along with the transcripts.

So, on this website, the most important things you’ll find is the link to request a home value report, how to find a new home, more about me and how to contact me, active listings, and the affordability calculator.
Regarding the calculator, a term you might not be familiar with is the debt-to-income ratio. This compares your income to your debts and helps to determind what home you can afford. A score of 36 is considered safe, while 37-50 is yellow and suggests some debt stress while a score of over 50 is very stressful. Some of the debts considered are rent or mortgage and that would likely be one or the other, not both, credit cards, student loans, auto loans, etc. So I’ll leave the score at 36 since it’s already prefilled to calculate the affordability and press calculate.
